He was a great host and fishing/hunting guide to his many friends and family while living in Pick City. In 1999 he retired and moved to Pick City so he could enjoy fishing and hunting every day of the week if he desired. He was a 55-year member of the Pipefitters Association. They resided in Fargo where he started his pipefitter career. From this union a daughter, Alysa, was born. Jim was united in marriage to Ina Ladendorf on Septemat Augustana Lutheran Church in Minot.
